About Our Institute

Established in 2008, the Super Speciality Pediatric Hospital & Post Graduate Teaching Institute stands as a cornerstone of child healthcare in Northern India. With campuses strategically located across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, we serve a population of over 200 million, offering tertiary care pediatric services.

Our mission is threefold: to deliver compassionate, evidence-based clinical care; to advance pediatric medicine through cutting-edge research; and to train the future pediatricians and pediatric surgeons of India through our rigorous post-graduate programs recognized by the National Medical Commission.

We house the region's largest Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), equipped with ECMO and advanced ventilatory support. Our institute is a recognized referral center for complex pediatric cardiology, neurology, oncology, and organ transplantation cases.

The teaching wing, affiliated with the Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Health Sciences, offers DM, MCh, MD, and PhD programs across 15 pediatric super-specialties. Our faculty includes nationally acclaimed researchers whose work has influenced treatment protocols globally.

Our institute is at the forefront of pediatric clinical research, currently leading 12 multicenter trials in areas such as:

  • Phase III trial of a novel monoclonal antibody for severe RSV infection in preterm infants. (Sponsor: National Institutes of Health, USA-collaborative).
  • Long-term outcomes of catheter-based interventions vs. surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot. (Indian Council of Medical Research funded).
  • Genomic study of early-onset pediatric inflammatory bowel disease in the North Indian population. (DBT-BTIS grant).

We publish an average of 80 peer-reviewed articles annually in indexed journals like The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, Journal of Pediatrics, and Indian Pediatrics.

Our Center for Pediatric Innovation (CPI) develops low-cost medical devices tailored for resource-limited settings. Notable inventions include:

  • SAFENEB: A low-cost, robust CPAP system for district-level NICUs, deployed across 50 centers in UP and UK.
  • SmartSpiro: A gamified, portable spirometer for asthma management in children, improving adherence by 40%.
  • Tele-PICU platform: A secure telemedicine system providing 24/7 remote monitoring and consultation to 10 district hospitals.
